Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Manufacturing Engineer

These are the core values we are looking for in an individual who is interested in bringing their experience to EBW Electronics talent pool. The Manufacturing Engineer will be involved in developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This individual will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. And will be responsible for coordinating the manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Some Key Duties

  • Will perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement.
  • Supervises Tech team.

Education
Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree with concentration in manufacturing. Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred.

Experience
Must have a minimum of 4 – 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products.

Human Resources Assistant

Human Resources Assistant Job Duties:

  • Conducting phone pre-screening recruiting for nonexempt employees, and scheduling candidate interviews with hiring supervisors.
  • Quantifies applicant skills by administering and scoring pre-screening tests.
  • Welcomes new employees to the EBW Electronics team by conducting new hire orientations.
  • Assists in monitoring time and attendance records in alignment with EBW Electronics policies.
  • Maintains EBW Electronics HRIS systems by updating employee information and any status changes.
  • Provides administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing various initiatives; answering incoming phone calls, and relaying any messages to appropriate EBW Electronics support staff members.

Supervisor

Supervises employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment while producing highly automated Printed Circuit Board Assembly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates work assignments to shift employees
  • Implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Assists and supports EBWE in continuously improve initiatives.
  • Ensures effective employee relations by providing employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Manages shift performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports.
  • Enforce Safety procedures and perform accident investigations.
  • Participate in Corrective Actions.
  • Supervisor employees attendance and time –keeping along with conducting performance reviews.
  • Determine, communicate and carry out necessary training of shift employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in a production environment with progressive leadership experience

Facilitator

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the creation and implementation of continuous improvement plans based on the Lean Principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to company core values and all safety and quality requirements.
  • Assists in the interview process to identify qualified candidates for manufacturing.
  • Leads cross-functional teams through kaizen events and the implementation of the lean toolset (e.g. job breakdown, line balancing, standard work, 5S, material and information flow, and SMED).
  • Provides ongoing communication to plant and group management on lean initiatives.
  • Ensures that workshop activities address Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost requirements.
  • Establishes best practices for the business. Works with other Facilitators across shifts to calibrate and establishes guidelines for lean implementation.
  • Leads training efforts as new standards are written.
  • Performs other functions as required.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in leadership position.
  • Demonstrates initiative to lead others for improved performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Versed in daily application of Kaizen principles.

SMT Operator

Job Duties/Skills:

  • Follow all related work instructions, achieve quality goals and production targets, and comply with safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform PCB loading/unloading, transfer conveyance, screen printing, SM machinery, and reflow oven operations.
  • Do setup and teardown of cassette, tray and vibratory feeders, and hand-place components.
  • Log-in to the Surface Mount Management System (SMMS) database at startup and log data as necessary.
  • Report to your team leader and inform SMT Technicians of all problems and issues. Log all data related to SM problems in the SMMS database.
  • Apply your knowledge of IPC specifications related to SMT assembly. Ensure quality meets or exceeds quality requirements.
  • Perform basic daily cleaning of machine surfaces, scrap bins and surrounding SMT production areas (5S).
  • Meet or exceed production targets.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Surface mount and computer skills preferred.

AOI Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Navigate and operate in Windows OS environment performing proper PC boot up and shut down and able to navigate drop down menus
  • Print & Documentation recognition and interpretation of Customer/EBW Prints, WI’s/VA’s, Bill of Material, and IPC
  • Inspect the board under the camera to ensure solderablity to be IPC compliant, part placement correct, and for orientation and polarity to be accurate.
  • Advise Tech if part is off from what the silkscreen on the PCB’s shows.
  • Check for skewing, no solder and missing parts.  Crucial visual inspection of the board to ensure quality

Education/ Experience:

  • High School Education or Equivalent is required.
  • Experience in Electronics and/ production environment preferred

Job Duties:
Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) Testing

  • Perform quality checks on products that are run through testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot defects resulting from testing, assess the potential quality issues, and communicate this to the production lines and quality department.

General Assembly

  • Apply enhanced IPC inspection knowledge of part placement, solder inspection reflow and through-hole, PCB/component damage, final assembly inspection, PB & PB-Free PCA handling.

Hand Soldering

  • Demonstrate ability to hand-solder complex, fine-pitched leaded and lead-free products. Perform hand soldering of through-hole to complex SMD parts on printed circuit boards.
  • Demonstrate enhanced IPC inspection knowledge for parts placement, solder inspection reflow and through-hole, PCB/component damage, final assembly inspection, PB & PB-Free PCA handling, electrostatic discharge.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read a bill of materials and secure correct components required to perform rework.
  • Demonstrate ability to use a hot plate, a hot air gun and a microscope as required for soldering operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior soldering and PCBA experienced preferred.

Supply Chain Intern

Summary:
The Supply Chain intern will be responsible for assisting supply chain team in meeting both departmental and corporate objectives. This individual will have the opportunity to become an instrumental part of the daily supply chain activities, including support with purchase requisitions, material handling, and analysis supply chain practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist/support Purchasing department on a daily basis.
  • Assist/support Inventory Control department on a daily basis.
  • Perform water spider duties and analyze efficiencies.
  • Participate in daily huddles.
  • Work with PLEX to analyze PFEP.
  • Perform data collection, spreadsheet creation, and data analysis.
  • Manage and resolve existing purchase requisition issues.

Education/Experience:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Supply Chain or Business Administration.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skill set.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.
  • Computer literacy applied to scheduling and data management.
