Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Program Manager

In a manner consistent with EBW Electronics’ values, the Program Manager has the responsibility and authority to lead global cross functional teams to prioritize, plan, execute, monitor, control, launch, and close product development projects such that the program achieves all product, process, financial, and program timing expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support quoting process for new business opportunities.
  • Lead the planning and execution of a project.
  • Perform the work to mature the details to support project and product scope. Establish clear and achievable objectives and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements. Then plans, schedules and manages project timelines using the Product Development Process (PDP).
  • Lead the project cross functional team capable of achieving results.
  • Manage the project financial performance against quoted budget.
  • Monitor project resource allocation and escalates any changes to plan. Communicate any available resources.
  • Provide direction and support to project team through sound meeting rhythm.
  • Constantly monitors project deliverables using appropriate Program Management tools and escalates quickly to all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify any product or process risks and gaps, initiate, communicate and manage countermeasures to mitigate concerns and achieve success.
  • Lead the team to successfully complete tasks with associated development phase. Present project status in accordance with the Program Review Gate Procedure.
  • Approve all project scope changes and manage the implementation to maintain or improve project objectives.
  • Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner while maintaining the correct balance between external and internal customer requirements.
  • Complete all project close activities. Ensures lessons learned are documented with the goal of continuous improvement.
  • Establishes close Customer relationships and communicates to Engineering & Sales leadership any new business opportunities.
  • Participates as a member of the Engineering Team.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Education/Experience:

  • BS in Engineering or related technical area required (Electronics Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the following responsibilities:
    • Program management from award to launch (Electro-Mechanical products preferred).
    • Leading cross-functional teams.
    • Automotive supply and development processes.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Engineering design principles and methodologies.

Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer is responsible for assisting in quality assurance of EBW’s products. Must insure that the quality of the product is up to customer’s satisfaction and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products in a Lean Environment.
  • Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
  • Develop, execute and analyze quality-reporting measures such as FPY, FTQ, PPM.
  • Assist in process certification and validation.
  • Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Review suppliers purchase orders and establish supplier quality requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits for ISO 9000 compliance. As well as TS 16949 audits and compliance.
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Travel required.

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Master Scheduler

To establish and monitor the production schedules for the facility to achieve customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the master production schedule for the facility, reviewing daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving raw materials, availability of production equipment, etc. Advises appropriate parties in the plant and sales offices of changes in the schedule.
  • Acts as primary contact with sales, manufacturing and logistics, determining resource constraints, and developing plans to achieve customers’ needs.
  • Reviews computerized inventory of raw materials against present and anticipated sales orders. Activates reorder points where judgment determines an anticipated shortfall.
  • Enters specific sales orders into the master schedule based on requested customer delivery dates, availability of raw materials, and equipment.
  • Leads weekly production planning meeting that includes representatives from sales, production, customer service and material departments.
  • Reviews monthly marketing forecasts and adjusts master schedules accordingly.
  • Participates in sales department’s quarterly forecast meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in materials management or business three to five years’ experience in manufacturing, production planning, and materials control function.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with a computerized production planning system such as MRP II.
  • Professional certification by the APICS or ISM.
  • Ability to analyze situations and react in a timely manner necessary.

Supervisor

Supervises employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment while producing highly automated Printed Circuit Board Assembly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates work assignments to shift employees

Facilitator

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the creation and implementation of continuous improvement plans based on the Lean Principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to company core values and all safety and quality requirements.
  • Assists in the interview process to identify qualified candidates for manufacturing.
  • Leads cross-functional teams through kaizen events and the implementation of the lean toolset (e.g. job breakdown, line balancing, standard work, 5S, material and information flow, and SMED).

  • Ensures that workshop activities address Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost requirements.
  • Establishes best practices for the business. Works with other Facilitators across shifts to calibrate and establishes guidelines for lean implementation.

SMT Operator

Job Duties/Skills:

  • Follow all related work instructions, achieve quality goals and production targets, and comply with safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform PCB loading/unloading, transfer conveyance, screen printing, SM machinery, and reflow oven operations.
  • Do setup and teardown of cassette, tray and vibratory feeders, and hand-place components.
  • Log-in to the Surface Mount Management System (SMMS) database at startup and log data as necessary.
  • Report to your team leader and inform SMT Technicians of all problems and issues. Log all data related to SM problems in the SMMS database.
  • Apply your knowledge of IPC specifications related to SMT assembly. Ensure quality meets or exceeds quality requirements.
  • Perform basic daily cleaning of machine surfaces, scrap bins and surrounding SMT production areas (5S).

  • Navigate and operate in Windows OS environment performing proper PC boot up and shut down and able to navigate drop down menus
  • Print & Documentation recognition and interpretation of Customer/EBW Prints, WI’s/VA’s, Bill of Material, and IPC
  • Inspect the board under the camera to ensure solderablity to be IPC compliant, part placement correct, and for orientation and polarity to be accurate.
  • Advise Tech if part is off from what the silkscreen on the PCB’s shows.
  • Check for skewing, no solder and missing parts.  Crucial visual inspection of the board to ensure quality
